There are four distinct product areas in the Rosenstiel's collection: Open Edition Prints, Limited Edition Prints, Engravings and Gouttelettes.
Open Edition Prints
Rosenstiel's has around 4,000 different open edition prints in stock at any one time. The Collection illustrates an unparalleled selection of attractive and affordable images for every taste, budget and decorative scheme. The prints feature traditional and contemporary subject matter, including a selection of the world's finest artists, from the great Old Masters to some of today's most talented designers.
The Collection is illustrated across three current open edition catalogues.
Gold is the company's largest ever catalogue, and brings together almost 1400 images over 440 huge pages. The catalogue combines the best of the Rosenstiel's collection of museum and decorative art, a range of much more contemporary imagery with a high value and life expectancy, and a superb selection of new images sourced from leading museums, galleries and artists around the world. Gold thus illustrates the core images at the heart of the Rosenstiel's collection.
Silver/Blue illustrates our collection of contemporary art and black and white or colour photography, printed only in standard sizes. The catalogue brings together two collections: Our Silver range of design-led, sophisticated larger scale artwork and our Blue range of smaller size pieces. All published in standard sizes for ease of framing, the new catalogue covers 304 pages.
Sedona is a new catalogue for 2008/2009 illustrating highly contemporary and decorative images specially designed for the international market and including a substantial number of oversize subjects. Inspired by ideas at the very edge of contemporary design. 174 page softback.
Limited Editions
Limited edition prints provide an affordable way to own the work of the best contemporary painters. Limited edition images have restricted print runs to create rarity for the collector and each limited edition is individually quality-checked and hand sorted, and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist.
Limited editions are published in standard offset lithograph format and also in other exciting media as silkscreens and on canvas.
Engravings
Over the years since the company's formation in 1880, Rosenstiel's has assembled a remarkable collection of several hundred historic engraved copperplates. The finest of the images pulled from these plates feature in the company's Atelier Collection. Each Atelier Collection engraving is painstakingly and individually pulled by skilled and dedicated craftsmen. Many are then individually hand-coloured. The Atelier Collection includes the engraved copperplates once owned by world-famous publishers Ackermann's and Frost & Reed.
The Rosenstiel's engravings collection is illustrated in the Atelier Catalogue and supplement, a beautiful leather-bound book which comes in a slip case and includes an introduction to the history of engraving written by one of the world's leading authorities.
Gouttelettes
Rosenstiel's is also proud to offer a gouttelette publishing service, which is exclusive to us around the world. Gouttelettes are digital reproductions produced in-house and on our own exclusively adapted machines to the very highest quality. Gouttelette prints can be published exactly to the customer's specification; we can be flexible on size and shape, we can print onto paper or canvas (and onto many other substrates as well), we can print in any quantity and always to the very highest quality.
