The Environment

As one of the world’s largest publishers of fine art prints and posters, Rosenstiel’s takes its environmental responsibilities very seriously. Every stage of our production process and every area of our business activities are reviewed regularly to consider the effects they are likely to have on the world in which we live. As an example, here are a few bullet points from our environmental assessment from the autumn of 2007:

• Our paper is sourced only from companies committed to utilising raw materials from well-managed renewable sources and our principal paper supplier has achieved the ISO14001 Environmental Management Standard.

• We select our suppliers with care; our principal supplier of print operates under a forceful written environmental management policy designed specifically to minimise waste generation, pollution and the use of environmentally unfriendly products. The company is also ISO14001 accredited.

• We recycle as much office waste as possible. Only three bins in our entire main office take non-recyclable materials.

• We drive responsibly and we have taken advice on how to reduce the mileage driven by our staff and on how to drive more fuel-efficiently. We have also begun to move our fleet of company vehicles to hybrids.

• We work constantly to reduce any type of waste. Office memo pads, for example, are bound from scrap from the side of large printing sheets.
